DOVER — On Monday, August 22 at 6:30 p.m., Dover Public Library will host a potluck-style discussion on Dorie Greenspan’s “Everyday Dorie.” The club samples dishes created from recipes in each month’s book selection and discusses the book itself. Each participant is invited to bring a dish created from a recipe from the book to share with the group (no need to double the recipe), as well as containers to exchange leftovers. Pontine will present ‘Migraciones’

PORTSMOUTH – Pontine Theater kicks off its 45th season from August 26-28 with performances of Paradox Teatro’s ‘Migraciones’. Performances are scheduled for Friday August 26 at 7 p.m., Saturday August 27 at 3 p.m. and Sunday August 28 at 2 p.m. at 1845 Plains Schoolhouse, 1 Plains Ave., Portsmouth.

“Migraciones” is a poignant meditation on the global migration situation, which inspires compassion for the global refugee crisis. Sofia Padila, a resident of Mexico, and Davey Steinman, a resident of the United States, created “Migraciones” out of a common fear of ever-tighter restrictions at the US-Mexico border and the potential loss of a future together. .

Beaks and Brews benefits from the Center for Wildlife

CAPE NEDDICK – Join the Center for Wildlife and some of the area’s favorite local brewers for their inaugural Beaks and Brews Tasting Event on Saturday, August 27 from noon to 4 p.m. This is the perfect opportunity for members of the public to learn about the Center for Wildlife and meet some of the Center for Wildlife’s living animal ambassadors, while sampling samples from local brewers including SoMe Brewing Co., York Beach Beer Co., Portsmouth Brewery, Urban Farm Fermentary, Northwoods Brewing Co. and Corner Point Brewing Co.
