Here’s your morning recap from Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday 2 October, as Spurs prepare to host Aston Villa in the Premier League tomorrow.
£ 43million star could join Spurs
Franck Kessie rejected a £ 110,000-a-week contract at AC Milan amid interest from a number of Premier League clubs – including Tottenham – as reported by Gazzetta dello Sport, via HITC.
The report adds that the Ivorian international is asking for £ 130,000 a week.
His contract expires at the end of June 2022 and he will be allowed to talk to clubs in January about a free transfer next summer.
Entrance to the Royal Arsenal
Tottenham defender Emerson Royal has admitted to having talks with Arsenal technical director Edu ahead of his arrival from Barcelona this summer.
The Brazilian right-back, who had only officially become a Barca player a few weeks earlier, signed for Tottenham on deadline day in a £ 26million deal, signing a contract for five years in stride.
Speaking to ESPN Brazil, the defender said: “I had a conversation with Edu. I spoke to Edu the same week.
“And we talked, he showed me the desire of the club and the like. And of course I needed Barcelona, I couldn’t settle anything with anybody, Barcelona had to negotiate from club to club.”

Major government decision that will impact Tottenham
The British government has confirmed that footballers doubly vaccinated against Covid-19 will be exempted from a mandatory 10-day hotel quarantine after the next international break.
Previously, players traveling to government redlisted countries had to be quarantined for 10 days upon return.
It has now been confirmed that these specific guidelines have been relaxed for those who have received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.
However, an added caveat is that players must stay in separate accommodations near the training ground although they are allowed to play and train.
