Nestled in beautiful Rising Sun, Indiana, not far from Cincinnati and set gently on the banks of the beautiful Ohio River, is the Empire House Hotel. As far as places to stay in Indiana go, this is one of our favorites, but not for the reasons we usually love places. This one is very familiar yet different. It really is a throwback to the old days, before the internet and in the days of analog TV. The decor hasn’t changed in decades, and honestly, we love it. This adorable hotel in Indiana is one of our favorites – come see why!
From the inside, it’s an old-school reminder of those days long before cellphones and the internet – although, of course, you can still use both while you’re here.
There is also something particularly charming about the location of this hotel. It’s incredibly nice to leave your vintage room and then go see the river, especially at sunset (or sunrise).
Then head back inside and relax with a good book. After all, you can still spend your time here on your phone or laptop…but what’s funny about that?
The town of Rising Sun is also worth exploring, as it is full of shops, restaurants, galleries and more. You’ll love it!
Of course, once you’re done, your comfortable room at the Empire House Hotel in Indiana will be waiting for you.
