Emergency services called for ‘a man on the roof’ on Hagley Road

Police, firefighters and paramedics were called after a man stood on the roof of a hotel near Bearwood.

Emergency services rushed to the scene outside the Grove Hotel in Hagley Road at 1:45 p.m. today.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: ‘We were alerted by a man standing on the roof of the Grove Hotel, Hagley Road near Bearwood at 1.45pm this afternoon (September 17th).

“All emergency services are on site and will stay there as long as needed.

“Hagley Road is still open.

The spokesperson confirmed the man was off the roof at around 4:10 p.m.

Jordan Eggington, spokesperson for the West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: “We were called at 2:24 pm to report concerns about the welfare of a patient on Hagley Road. We currently have a paramedic on the scene. . ”

The West Midlands Fire Department confirmed that a fire engine was dispatched to the scene at 2:25 p.m.
